It’s the offseason, and that means one thing for certain: You don’t have to empty your pockets to get a decent East End dinner. Hurrah! These four restaurants provide some great bang for your buck. Check them out while the crowds are at bay.
This East Hampton restaurant has plenty of crazy promotions, including Sunday dollar oysters. But their prix fixe is also a winner: An appetizer and entrée for $30, every Sunday through Thursday, or Friday and Saturday between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. For $5 extra, add dessert. That means that you can get the grilled Kobe flat iron steak, which normally goes for $38, is practically free.
Watermill’s Bistro Eté offers a 2-course prix fixe menu for $30 every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday in the dining room until 6:30 p.m., and all night at the bar every day of the week. While the menu is subject to change, you can expect an appetizer of duck wings confit, or escargot, or a mixed green salad with goat cheese, leading into zucchini spaghetti, steak frites, or pappardelle with braised short ribs.
In Hampton Bays, you can have your lobster (two of them!) and eat it, too. This waterfront restaurant offers their twin lobster special—two lobsters, served with salad and sides—for a mere $32. This may be a year-round special, but trust us: it feels just as good when the weather turns.
