Thanksgiving is almost here, and that means one thing and one thing only: It’s high time you ordered that turkey that everyone will be raving about. If you’re confused about where to get the freshest fresh bird on the East End, allow us to help you out. Read on for our picks for the best East End turkeys of 2019.

Mecox Bay Dairy
Bridgehampton

The Ludlow family already has a corner on superlative pies and world-class cheese. So why not trust them to get the bird you want, too? The Bridgehampton farm is now taking online orders for their turkeys, with pricing and availability to be determined. You can order your pasture-raised bird online here. Pickup will take place on Tuesday, November 26 and Wednesday, November 27.

North Sea Farms
Southampton

This Southampton farm sells turkeys as small as 10 pounds and as large as 30, with orders beginning in late October. To reserve your fresh bird, stop by the farm in person, or give the North Sea farmers a call at (631) 283.0735. While you’re there, grab a Tate’s crumble or two; the iconic bakery line began at this farm.

Browder’s Birds
Mattituck

A certified organic pastured poultry farm, Browder’s is a North Fork go-to when it comes to great poultry. The farm’s broad-breasted bronze turkeys are now available for pre-order online here with a $50 deposit. Farm pickups will be Monday, November 25, Tuesday, November 26, and Wednesday, November 27.

Feisty Acres
Southold

Abra Morawiec sells heritage breed turkeys, including Black Spanish, Bourbon Red, and Narragansett birds for the holiday season only. These delicious birds are incredibly special—and delicious. To special order your heritage bird, send an email to abra@feistyacres.com, or stop by the farm on Saturdays between 12 and 3 p.m.
