Take a Sneak Peek at Almond’s 1st Annual Whole Animal Beer Dinner

On March 1, Almond in Bridgehampton hosted the 1st Annual Whole Animal/Cured, Pickled, Fermented and Preserved Things Beer Dinner. The event brought together Almond’s own chef Jason Weiner, chef Jeremy Blutstein of East By Northeast, and Montauk Brewing Company. The evening featured a five-course tasting menu accompanied by a Montauk Brewing Company beer pairing. Edible got a behind-the-scenes look at all of the action.

Billed as an event built on the meeting of “1 pig from Sullivan County and 5 beers from Montauk,” the dinner began with Pop Corn and Chicharrones. Next up was Head Cheese and Rillettes paired with Montauk’s Watermelon Session Ale; Pozole Verde y Rojo with Imperial Red Ale; Sweet N Sour Belly with Wave Chaser IPA; and Mixed Grill with Edible’s own collaboration beer with Montauk, NY Rye Pale Ale. For dessert, guests enjoyed Apple Pork Fat Cake.
