Support Biodiversity and Join an Heirloom Tomato CSA

I don’t know about you, but I get giddy over the thought of an heirloom tomato CSA (community supported agriculture), especially the kind grown by voracious seed saver Steph Gaylor of Invincible Summer Farms. She is the tomato whisperer. An amazing 350 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, some extremely rare, have graced the plates at some of top restaurants throughout Long Island, New York City and even served to President Barack Obama. I have walked the tomato fields at the farm and the varieties are mind-boggling. Imagine tomatoes that are black, blue, spectrum stripped (an array of colors), and even yellow and red currant sized; you will be in awe. Not only that, but you will be feeding something much larger than your tummies can take — biodiversity for a single crop.

So what does that mean? By supporting a single fruit or vegetable CSA, you are supporting continued sustainability and growth of that one crop’s diversity. Instead of receiving a boring red tomato every week, this single crop CSA will offer incredible varieties. The same goes for every fruit and vegetable!

If you are a tomato fan like me and only want the tender juicy stuff, this CSA is for you. There are no zucchini and kale fillers here, just straight-up 10 pounds of heirloom tomatoes delivered to your doorstep for 10 weeks straight starting in the beginning of August.
