North Fork Weekend Planner – July 3-5, 2015

Greenport Tall Ships_01_Jason Nadler

Once the Fourth of July arrives, it’s officially summer on the North Fork. Since the holida falls on a Saturday, the official start of summer gets pushed back a few days. Sparkling Pointe is kicking off the celebration on Thursday with an evening Summer Clambake.

On Friday, Paumanok Vineyards begins the season summer with their fifth annual ilili Lamb Roast. ilili (lower case is intentional) is a New York City Mediterranean restaurant. The extensive menu will be paired with Paumanok’s wines.

All heads are turning to Greenport for the Tall Ships Challenge. Greenport will become a street fair with food trucks, restaurants and local vendors all celebrating outdoors. Special cocktails have been created to celebrate the event. Tall ships and their celebration will continue through Tuesday, July 7. A special dinner will be at Noah’s on Monday night.

In Greenport, Little Creek Oysters will be celebrating their first anniversary with an Oysterfest all their own. Reservations are suggested; they have set times and very limited space.

This hardly represents all the fun things to do this weekend on the North Fork. There are many wineries and restaurants that have great events planned. Of course, there are other wineries where you can go to escape, listen to live music and just taste the wine, like Mattebella, Waters Crest, and McCall, to name three.

If you’re looking for something to do, clock over to North-Forks for the comprehensive list of weekend events.
