Everyone remember all the fun we had at the last beer event at the Parrish Art Museum? Lots of locals, great beer and fabulous venue. Next Friday, prepare to do it again, this time with local spirits at center stage at Distill Life.

The event features a panel discussion moderated by Brian Halweil, editor-in-chief of Edible East End, that includes panelists Jason Laan of Sag Harbor Rum, Richard Scoffier, food and beverage director of Honest Man Restaurants (Nick & Toni’s Group), and Leslie Merinoff of Owney’s NYC Rum in Brooklyn. During an illustrated talk, samples of each presenter’s product will be passed throughout the audience.

Cocktails are cool. “There are more small-batch distilleries in New York than at any time since Prohibition,” says Halweil And there’s a whole world of cocktail recipes and culture we are rediscovering. We have invited three distillers and mixologists to tell you exactly what you need to know about drinking hooch in New York.”

Friday, March 13, 6 p.m. $20 | $10 for members (must be 21 and over to attend) Order tickets here.
