Three Cheers for the Red, White and (Navy) Blue: Navy Beach Fundraiser Raises $8,000 for Navy SEAL Foundation

Saturday, June 21st was a good day to be in Montauk. Summer arrived, the sun warmed the sand from the sky, and Navy Beach hosted their second annual “Honoring our Warriors. Supporting their Families” cocktail party to benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation. And with approximately $8,000 raised at the event (and prior to it through Navy Beach’s own Dine&Donate program), the day was unmistakably a success.

The 150 guests in attendance—Navy Seal Coordinator Larry Kelly, Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman, Former East Hampton Town Supervisor Bill Wilkinson, and Larry Siedlick among them—were treated to a delicious assortment of small bites and cocktails. The incomparable Nancy Atlas provided the tunes.

And Navy Beach‘s support of the Navy SEAL Foundation is really just beginning. From now through Labor Day, a donation of $1 will be added to each dining check to support the Foundation directly. It is a perfect example of a little going a long way: last year Navy Beach‘s efforts raised $17,000. And to improve upon that sum, Navy Beach will again match the first $2,500 raised this season alone.

The altruism is contagious, no? So stop by Navy Beach, or contribute to the cause remotely by clicking over (and donating) here.
