Established in 2005, Edible, continues to grow and take a leadership stake among regional publishers with the fall 2013 launch of Edible Long Island. As such, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our advertising sales team on the East End of Long Island to cover the North and South forks.
The position of account executive will be responsible for selling across an integrated platform of products – print, digital and events. Account executives are responsible for all aspects of the sales process from the initial call and closing of the sale through to making sure ad materials are received. You will also need to complete reports and update sales management on account activity as well as emerging new opportunities. This position involves limited travel within the territory’s defined region.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and highly goal-oriented in order to achieve sales targets. You will need to cold call, pursue sales opportunities and work on account development. The ability to manage accounts after closing, along with a proven track record for attracting and retaining business, is essential.
This is primarily a commission-based position based out of your home. The commission structure is generous (commissions are earned from dollar-one); bonus commissions are achievable.

Desired Skills & Experience
Preferred candidates must have:
- At least three years of media sales experience
- A track record on meeting and exceeding goals
- An entrepreneurial spirit
- Cold calling experience
- Solid presentation skills
- The ability to negotiate contracts and close deals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and good follow-through
- Experience with a CRM system
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Current contacts and a home office are a plus
