The Topping Rose House is continuing its series of wine dinners with Brewer-Clifton Winery and Palmina Wines on Thursday, May 22. The plan is to catch people who are starting their Memorial Day weekend is little early. The night will in the barn, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. Palmina and Brewer-Clifton owner and winemaker, Steve Clifton, will lead guests through a four-course tasting menu from chef de cuisine Kyle Koenig including Strozzapretti with lobster, fresno chili & mint, Braised Lamb Shank with spring peas, baby carrots & spiced apricot jus. The dinner is $175 per person with wine pairings from Brewer-Clifton or Palmina accompanying each course.
Steve Clifton is not new to the East End. He participated in the 2008 Cool Climate Wine Growing Seminar held at Stony Brook Southampton. His wineries are in Santa Barbara County which, although it is counter-intuitive, is also a region that doesn’t get as much sun as the rest of California. He grows many of the same varieties as East End vineyards.
