The New Gin & Tonics at Nick & Toni’s; Take That Lime Shortage

three gin and tonic cocktails

At Edible, we’re still a not too far away from our Good Spirits event (watch the video here!), which showcases the deluge of local gin, vermouth, rum, cordials, whiskeys, rye and bourbon ready to mixed up into fresh cocktails. And cocktails are hot. Next month is the Manhattan Cocktail Classic, which just announced that Questlove will be DJing at one of the events. At our end of the island, Nick & Toni’s has laughed right in the face of the lime shortage and has come up with three new variations on a summer classic, the gin and tonic, using all the local goodness. It’ll be that time soon, we swear.

The Finest (round, smooth, honey)
Barr Hill Gin, Q Tonic, Fee Brother’s orange bitters, lime ice and lime twist.

The Nouveau (floral, citrus, delicate)
Greenhook Ginsmiths American Dry Gin, Fever Tree Tonic, Dutch Spirits Prohibitters and a lemon twist.

The Old-Timey (earthy, bitter, crisp)
Perry’s Tot Navy Strength Gin, Bittermens Commonwealth Cordial and a lime wedge.
