Filmmaker Brent Nemetz has food on the brain. The East Ender, who owns Sterling Films, has won three Emmys for his work on PBS and the Food Network. And for the moment he’s working on developing a show for Food Network featuring our farmers and artisans.
“There’s no representation on television of the food of the North Fork,” says Nemetz, who hopes to sell a 30-minute show featuring the women who started Fork & Anchor, a food store in East Marion. “Lucy Muellner and Erin Fitzpatrick are so great for T.V.,” he says. “It would kind of be like the Barefoot Contessa, but on the North Fork.”
So far he’s created a “sizzle roll” of the women visiting 8 Hands Farm. By the end of the episode they’ve created a recipe and presented the dish. Good luck! We know how great the food on the East End is. Everyone else should too.
