Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County will be holding a one-day workshop to get your juices flowing about starting your spring garden. Want to learn to start vegetables from seed indoors, start a rose garden, plant a shade garden? Their spring gardening school offers dozens of workshops taught by master gardeners and Cornell staff.
The 2013 Spring Gardening School at Riverhead Middle School on April 12 will feature educational exhibits, free soil testing, a plant clinic and plant sale. (Bring your plant specimens and soil samples!) The day includes four classes, box lunch, morning and afternoon coffee breaks, soil tests, plant diagnosis and exhibits. Pre-registration is required. First come, first served. It’s a Saturday, so bring the kids.
