Super Bowl Fever Has Caught on at Lieb Cellars

With the entire city going crazy for Super Bowl XLVIII, it’s only right that visitors, celebrants and football fans have the chance to taste some Long Island wine. Lieb Cellars of Mattituck is in the thick of it as the wine sponsor for two pre-game events: The Big Game Give and The 50 Yard Lounge.

The 50 Yard Lounge at One Penn Plaza, a five-day New York-centric food and football gathering that starts on January 29, will feature Lieb’s Bridge Lane wines; two new wines in this entry level line are being introduced this year: a red blend and a white blend. The wines will be available throughout the eight bars and be offered as pairings with celebrity chefs’ featured dishes.

At The Big Game Give, a charity event on January 31 hosted by Alec Baldwin, Lieb will unveil their new logo and pour three reserve wines, including their flagship Pinot Blanc, sparkling Blanc de Blancs and yet-to-be-released 2008 Reserve Merlot.

Lieb and sports have been affiliated before. Their wines have been poured at Citi Field since 2009.
