No need to stay away from the wineries in the winter. Most only took January 3 off for the first big snow of 2014. Besides the delicious wine, there’s another reason to venture out: Winterfest 2014 Live on the Vine, its seventh iteration, when wineries and musicians and bed-and-breakfasts and restaurants team up to cater to tourists and locals alike. This year the happenings start on February 8 and run through March 16. However, you can start Winterfest 2014 early with the kickoff party on January 17 at the Suffolk Theater. There will be music and dancing and wine and food. Doors open at 6 p.m. and food service starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Sounds like a good idea to us.
