On November 10 from noon to 6 p.m. the Greenport Harbor Brewery will be blowing out the concept of an oysterfest with an all-day schedule of music, tours, food and beer. Great details on their Facebook page, but the festivities start Friday afternoon with a brewmaster talk on their latest beer, the oyster stout. On Saturday, there will be tours every two hours and a brewing demonstration. The tasting room opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. On Sunday the oyster knives come out as four local oyster purveyors open their wares; three local restaurants will be serving food; and Cornell Cooperative Extension will be on hand to promote their Marine Meadows program designed to bring back the all-important eelgrass to our bays.
