Calling all soup-lovers! The Peconic Land Trust and Amagansett Farmers Market are teaming up for an evening of soup, wine, and music: it’s Souper Tuesday. On August 13 from 6 to 8 p.m., you can peruse the market and try soups prepared by local chefs. Each chef is paired with a South Fork farm, and each pairing will produce a delicious gazpacho, in celebration of summer and local food.
There will be music by Escola de Samba Boon, and Michael Cinque of Amagansett Wines & Spirits will offer tastes of local wines. Admission is $12, or $10 if you BYOB (bowl, that is).
Unlike last year, where each Tuesday in August featured a different farmer, this year all of the farmers and restaurants will participate in a single event. The confirmed pairings so far are Quail Hill Farm with Amagansett Farmers Market, Balsam Farms with Nick & Toni’s, Amber Waves Farm with Jeff Schwarz, Pike Farm with Susan Spungen, and Bhumi Farm with Navy Beach. Amagansett Sea Salt will have a salt-station with finishing salts, and food writer Laura Donnelly will be the emcee for the evening.
Souper Tuesday at the Amagansett Farmers Market is on Tuesday, August 13 from 6 to 8 p.m., at 367 Main Street in Amagansett.
