There’s just two more weeks to book your spot at the Chefs Party to sip and sup the night away while raising funds for Hayground School’s culinary arts program. And we have two pairs of tickets to the cocktail portion to give away. That’s a $350 value per pair! Read on to enter.
As we reported last week this annual event is one of our favorite because of the unique mashup between local chefs and their chef friends/allies from New York City. The cocktail portion never fails to impress with cooks outdoing cooks as they sling clams, corn, duck, tomatoes and other timely harvest. Since this is a family affair, among those cooking will be current Hayground parents Chef Jason Weiner of Almond restaurants and L&W Oyster Co, and Christian Mir of the Stone Creek Inn. (In full disclosure, I am also a parent at the school, although my love for the curriculum predated enrolling my kids.) Also look for pours from Greenport Brewing Company, Wölffer Vineyards, Channing Daughters Winery, and many others.
And to make your night extra special, consider the VIP four-course meal in honor of Le Bernadin chef Eric Ripert, at the home of Toni Ross, a founding parent of the school with her husband Jeff Salaway. The four-course meal will be paired with wines by Aldo Sohm (Sommelier – Le Bernardin), and prepared by Claudia Fleming (North Fork Table and Inn), Justin Smillie (Il Bucco Alimentari e Vineria), Michael Cavaniola (Cavaniola’s Gourmet Cheese Shop), Kerry Heffernan (Finalist “Top Chef Masters” season 4); Steffan Karlsson (Fond- Gothenburg, Sweden) and Taku Sato (Nobu57), using products from D’Artagnan and Fishers Island Oysters as well as produce from Hayground School’s Slow Foods Greenhouse.
