Food Truck Derby at Tanger. Did You Make It?

What’s not to love about a circle of food trucks in a parking lot of an outlet mall? I think we can ask that again. What’s not to love about a circle of food trucks in our own East End outlet mall with grilled cheese, pizza to order, on-demand ice cream sandwiches and tastes of hard cider and local beer? Edible’s Great Food Truck Derby came to Tanger Outlets last Saturday and despite the wind and weather, crowds were lining up for tacos, quiche and BBQ. There was Morris Grilled Cheese, the Wandering Palate, Silver Spoon, Van Leeuwen, and Coolhaus, where you choose your cookie and then your ice cream to make a sandwich. Rubirosa Ristorante brought their pizza oven and was cooking up on the spot.  The local beer (Greenport Harbor Brewing Company) and hard cider (from Peconic Bay Winery) rounded out the experience.

If you missed the derby, no worries. Reserve your space for the 2nd annual Great Food Truck Derby in Bridgehampton on Aug. 9.
