Folks on Shelter Island will have an easy time of it during Eat, Drink Local Week, which kicks off June 23. At 18 Bay, the chefs, husband and wife team Elizabeth Ronzetti and Adam Kopels, serve a four-course menu for $50 every day using really local fare.
The restaurant used to be in Bayville and was the site of a dinner I attended when the chefs were hosting a class from Slow Food University, which we covered in our Fall 2009 issue. It was delicious.
Of course the menu is filled with the produce of some of our favorite farms and purveyors: Sylvester Manor Farm, Wickham’s Fruit Farm, Oyster Ponds Farm, Terry’s Farm, Invincible Summer Farms, Southold Fish Market and Latham Farms
