Could it already be 10 years since Mr. Steve Haweeli decided that March on the East End was dead enough? And–this season aside–usually the dreariest and mud covered time of the year. So, Haweeli and his crew at WordHampton PR got clients together to create a week when a three-course fixed priced dinner w0uld be available all week long. Enter Hamptons Restaurant week. It picked up steam almost immediately, and restaurants that usually closed a few days during the week in winter, started staying open for that whole week.
This year 55 restaurants on the North and South forks will be offering the dinners for $19.95 or $24.95 or both $19.95 and $24.95, from March 18 through March 25. But that’s not all:
- Diners may try discounted bottles of wine from participating vineyards for $19.95 or $24.95 per bottle at select restaurants
- Vineyards may offer discounts in tasting rooms: 15% off bottles of select wines, 20% off cases of select wines or a flight of five tasting wines for $5
- Diners may rest between meals at East End lodging properties offering 15% off accommodations, stay two nights and get the third night free, or stay one night and get the second at half price.
This is a great time for locals to try restaurants that are usually too crowded in the summer. And it’s a great time for locals to help out restaurants, so we have someplace to go in the winter.
