There’s still time to get in on Vine University, a two-part project of North Fork bed-and-breakfasts and Jim Waters of Waters Crest Winery in Cutchogue.
Participants come for a two-night stay at one of the B&Bs and take a two-day winemaking class under Waters’ tutelage. By the end, guests will have learned everything they need to know to make 30 bottles of wine that are theirs to keep. There are still places for the Sept. 9 to 11 session, which includes two dinners at local restaurants, breakfast and lunch and a winemaking kit.
All participants then return for the first weekend in December when their wines will be tasted blind by local winemakers and they will attend a wine-pairing dinner at Jamesport Manor Inn featuring the wines of Waters Crest, Palmer Vineyards and Jamesport Winery.
