It’s starts in early July: the lavender harvest at Lavender by the Bay in East Marion.
You may have read our feature in the low summer issue on the farm owned and operated by Serge and Susan Rozenbaum on the Main Road.
Right now the bees are so busy gathering the nectar that will become the couple’s coveted lavender honey. And the fields are starting to turn varying shades of purple.
Pull in the driveway and the smell ushers you to the South of France. Soon the entire ceiling will be garlanded with drying bunches of the aromatic purple buds.
Lavender by the Bay is open seven days per week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
