Stone Soup is an old folk story in which hungry strangers persuade townspeople to give them food. It is usually told as a lesson in cooperation, especially amid scarcity.
WHOS COOKING? Lia Fallon is executive chef and owner of Amarelle Restaurant, and Lia Fallon Catering. She will be cooking up a storm this Friday on Love Lane in Mattituck with our rendition of this fun folk tale on Friday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.
HOW IT WORKS? First you call Roanoke Vineyards at 631-298-7677. Reservations will be taken until Thursday, Jan. 17 at 12:00 pm. Then you name an ingredient. Thursday afternoon, Lia will get the list and work her magic thoughts and Friday night in our tasting room, will create a delicious culinary masterpiece using your ingredients to come up with a special stone soup recipe.

WHAT INGREDIENTS TO NAME FOR THE SOUP? Any of favorite ingredient you enjoy. Vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, dairy, wine, beer, spices, breads, crackers or herbs? Be creative. But also be realistic we will all be enjoying this communal broth.
THE PRICE: $20 for a serving of soup and a delicious glass of wine.
