Fun! Prizes! Dancing! Food! Family-Friendly! Feel-good!
On Saturday, April 29, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., kid volunteers from Shelter Island and Bridgehampton to East Hampton and Montauk will join hands, school to school and community to community, to help battle the worst humanitarian crisis since World War II: a terrible famine in South Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria, and Yemen. Almost 1.4 million children may die this year in this famine!
All proceeds from the April 29th benefit will go to Unicef, which is already on the ground helping feed the starving. Unicef has a proven track record, with 90 percent of all donations going to actual aid.
You will be glad you came! The fund-raiser will feature lots of students learning about kid power, and the power of pitching in and doing something when an emergency strikes. There will be dancing, prizes, a Chinese auction, and lots of finger foods and refreshments.
If you have kids who’d like to join in, or if you’d like to contribute food or drink for the fund-raiser, or if you have questions, please email the organizers here.
